The 2022 Winners of the KBDi Designer awards were announced in August at the annual KBDi Symposium & Gala in Sydney – one of the most anticipated events in the Kitchen & Bathroom Industry calendar.
KBK Kitchens is extremely honoured and proud to announce that our ‘Frogholt House’ kitchen project, by our talented designer Anne, was awarded WINNER in the Queensland Large Kitchen Category.
In addition, the same project was awarded WINNER in the the Kitchens & Bathrooms Quarterly & KBDI People’s Choice Awards after a rigorous public voting process with almost 20,000 votes being cast.
The home is a postwar cottage that had a tiny cramped and dated 90’s kitchen.
“My client, who is a self-professed foodie with a passion for recipe developing and pasta making, wanted to reconfigure the layout to make a much larger kitchen area that would be the main focal and gathering point of the home.” Says designer Anne.
The client expressed to Anne – “All great moments shared should be centred around a meal. I love nothing more than feeding people.”
The layout is meticulously tailored to the client’s needs and includes expansive clutter free bench space and lots of carefully planned concealed storage. The island seating is arranged to encourage conversation and to maximise the view of the tree tops beyond the deck.
Anne commented on her wins; “In my work I strive to enhance my clients’ homes and lives through considered and personalised design. To have my work recognised with such prestigious awards is such an honour. I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful clients that open up their homes to me and the KBK team and trust in us to deliver a design and product that answers all their dreams and desires.”
The judges in the Large Kitchens QLD Category had to say;
“With the client being a self-professed foodie with a love for feeding friends and family, the designer paid great attention to the functionality of this space. With considered planning and attention to detail, she’s created a kitchen designed for cooking, with a natural and earthy aesthetic that will make all guests feel at home.”
