In this ‘Insider Look’ series we take you inside the mind of a designer and give you a detailed look at a recent Kitchens by Kathie renovation. This installment showcases a peaceful Hampton’s inspired Oasis in Pullenvale, Brisbane.

The brief for the kitchen renovation in this beautiful space was to create a timeless design with a crisp contrast to highlight the island bench. The clients enjoy entertaining on their back deck, which is in direct contact with the kitchen, so the large island bench is used as a servery when guests are around.
Designer, Ebony, explains the biggest challenge was to reflect the style of the home with a few decorative details whilst keeping clean lines in a bright space without it becoming too busy or ornate.
Decorative skirting was selected by Tesrol around the sides and back of the island-Decorative ‘Federation’ capping mould by Polytec is featured around around the top.
The stunning island cabinetry is in Resene ‘Mondo’. Dulux ‘Natural White’ was selected to balance
the cabinetry colours.
The colours used were in line with the décor throughout the house, which is a Queenslander almost in the country side.
Classic Two Pack routed profile doors were selected by Polytec ‘Oceanic’ – 10% matt finish.
Hepburn ‘Sydney’ handles and knobs in brushed nickel finish were used within this kitchen design.
Smartstone Calacatta Blanco benchtops finish off this magnificent kitchen that leads into a peaceful outdoor entertaining area. The vein through the stone benchtop determined the colour for the island’s grey panels.
This light and classic Hampton’s style kitchen perfectly suits this peaceful Pullenvale home.
